| The construction of a new, two-story, 850-square-foot addition was called for in this project. Tying in multiple roof lines to the existing building was one of the many challenges presented at the site.
The addition’s exterior has a graceful curved window to echo the double-reverse curved cedar shingle roof and eave lines. Decorative corbels were incorporated, matching those on the existing building. The newly created guest bedroom added two private viewing decks and offered a scenic vista. The custom milled balusters enhanced the Acadian romantic cottage look of the building. |

For the curved roof with its cedar roof shingles, we designed and fabricated a machine to steam and bend the shingles to provide an optimum fit. |
