Commercial Projects - Jackson Lab Building #23

The Jackson Lab Building 23 was a Design-Build project, which consisted of renovating an existing non-insulated warehouse into the Lab’s primary maintenance building.

The renovation required:

  • running new utilities
  • a new electrical entrance
  • sprinkler protection
  • developing an insulation envelope and vapor barrier
  • installing a concrete floor slab
  • fitting out office space
  • building a mezzanine.

From a design perspective, E.L. Shea produced all the construction drawings and ensured that the new

construction met all the latest code requirements.

Because this was a design build project, we were able to meet the Lab’s schedule requirements to occupy their new space, and also came in well under their targeted budget.

We teamed with Johnson & Jordan for the mechanical work, Kinney Electric for the electrical, and Deane & Allyn for the sprinkler system.
